we want you to feel better ✿

We specialise in Remedial Massage, Bowen Therapy, Lymphatic Drainage, Fertility Massage, Pregnancy Massage, Acupuncture + Chinese Medicine and Energy Healing

  • Remedial massage, Bowen therapy and acupuncture may help ease your pain and tension, whether it is chronic or acute.

Remedial Massage targets muscle tension, improves circulation, flexibility, and range of motion. Read more about remedial massage here.

Bowen Therapy is a manual therapy that you might call a ‘muscle adjustment’. We use ‘bowen moves’ to roll or flick over muscles to send a signal to the nervous system for the muscle to release. It can be very effective with chronic pain. We seek to find the line of tension in the body responsible for pain, and restore muscular symmetry. Low back pain, sciatica, knee pain, and neck pain often respond very well. It can be beneficial in chronic pain, asthma, headaches, TMJ, back pain and fibromyalgia etc. Read more about Bowen here

Acupuncture may help alleviate pain by stimulating specific points on the body to promote natural healing, reduce inflammation, and improve circulation. It also supports the nervous system, helping to release endorphins that act as natural pain relievers.

  • We offer Chinese Medicine/Acupuncture and Fertility Massage to support you in your journey.

Fertility massage encourages hormonal balance by bringing fresh, oxygenated blood to the ovaries and clears congestion. This clears hormonal pathways for feedback between the endocrine system and reproductive organs. Womb massage for fertility releases scar tissue surrounding the ovaries, making the path clearer and easier for the ovulating egg. While we cannot and would not guarantee pregnancy, we hope to play a part in the journey.

Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture can be a supportive and nourishing treatment when trying to conceive. We take an integrated approach to fertility, assessing blood tests, sperm tests and ask you to take your Basal Body Temperatures (BBT) which gives us the best indication on what is going on in your body, and how we can support you and your partner on your fertility journey.

  • We offer several treatment types to support you in your pregnancy.

Pregnancy massage may help by relieving muscle pain and tension in the back, hips and shoulders caused by growing bub. Tailoring each session to your needs, massage can reduce discomfort and pain as it stimulates circulation. Pregnancy massage also calms the nervous system, and may improve sleep quality. Please note mama’s can also receive postnatal massage at anytime they feel comfortable after birth.

Acupuncture may be a wonderful support through pregnancy. Helping to manage and support you through pregnancy symptoms such as morning sickness, hyperemesis, fluid retention, pelvic pain, reflux, nocturia (urinating during the night), gestation diabetes, and labour preparation and induction. Acupuncture (including herbal medicine) may also help to secure the pregnancy when there is threatened miscarriage.

Lymphatic drainage can help to move fluid when there is swelling due to pregnancy, and is a treat for the nervous system, bringing calm and inducing a good nights rest. Read more about lymphatic drainage here.

  • In Spinal Energetics, we work with energy to release, unravel, and unblock the energetic part of ourselves. Spinal energetics combines Eastern and Western thought to interact with a person’s spine, nervous system and energetic field to harness their innate intelligence to know and heal themselves.

This energy healing modality helps to create flow and ease within the system, allowing us to align ourselves back to our true path and live as ourselves with ease. Read more about Spinal Energetics here.

Sessions may be calming, restoring, enlightening and revealing. No session is the same.

Each treatment may also include Bowen therapy, acupressure, essential oils, affirmation cards, and flower essences.

  • Lymphatic drainage, Bowen therapy and acupuncture are all both calming and regulating for the nervous system.

Lymphatic drainage is a nourishing and soothing treatment that will not only aid in detoxification and reduction of fluid retention, but will calm down the nervous system and often helps to regulate sleep. Some comment that it is the most relaxing treatment they have had! It is more calming than a massage as massage targets the muscles, which can result in some soreness if there is tension. In lymphatic drainage, we move fluid only, so it is a gentle and nurturing treatment that sends most to sleep on the table.

Bowen Therapy winds the mind down, as many find it beneficial to calm anxiety and help clear the mind of racing thoughts. It is a mindful practice, as when we do Bowen moves we leave the room for 1-2 minutes to allow the body to respond and the muscles to release, this also captures the mind, so all you are focused on is the treatment. It can be beneficial in chronic pain, asthma, headaches, TMJ, back pain and fibromyalgia etc.

Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine aim to regulate and balance the mind and body. Acupuncture allows you to take a breath, nourishing and grounding the nervous system. We also have herbs that are used to support the body in times of stress, aiding in resilience.

  • Chinese medicine and Acupuncture have a lot to offer in supporting women’s health conditions such as endometriosis, PCOS, perimenopause, menopause, fibroids, premenstrual disorder (PMS/PMDD).

We take an integrated approach using a combination of acupuncture, herbal medicine, supplementation, and dietary/ lifestyle advice to support and address the root imbalances that contribute to these conditions.

Treatment is always tailored to the individual, with a focus on restoring hormonal harmony, improving circulation, reducing inflammation, and enhancing overall wellbeing.

Commonly asked questions about massage

We specialise in remedial massage and Myotherapy, pregnancy/postnatal massage, and relaxation massage.

Remedial massage is effective for alleviating acute or chronic pain muscle pain, such as back, neck, and shoulder tension. Massage addresses muscle imbalances and postural issues, enhancing flexibility, mobility, and overall body alignment.

  • Deep tissue massage is a remedial massage technique, so when you book in for a remedial massage your therapist will use deep tissue massage. You therapist may also use cupping and stretching in your treatment to release your tight and sore muscles and relieve pain and tension.

  • A “normal” or relaxation massage primarily aims to promote relaxation and general wellbeing through gentle techniques. At our Point Cook clinic we offer Remedial massage, by contrast, is more clinical and goal-oriented, focusing on identifying and treating specific injuries or chronic conditions to improve movement and reduce pain.

  • We recommend at least 3 weekly sessions, especially if coming in with a chronic complaint, then your therapist will assess your progress, but usually monthly maintenance sessions will be recommended.

  • While both massage therapy and myotherapy use hands-on techniques such as deep tissue massage, myotherapy uses additional techniques such as trigger point therapy, dry needling, and stretching to specifically target areas of muscle and soft tissue dysfunction. Myotherapists typically have more extensive training in anatomy, physiology, and musculoskeletal dysfunction than massage therapists.

Common questions about acupuncture

We have an interest in women’s health conditions, pregnancy care, fertility and birth preparation, but also enjoy treating a wide range of conditions including chronic pain.

Did you know that in Chinese Medicine we make an assessment of your health through a Chinese Medicine lens - we have our own diagnostic tools, these include tongue diagnosis, and pulse reading.

  • Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine practice that involves inserting thin needles into specific acupuncture points on the body to promote healing and balance.

Acupuncture may help not only with pain, but also internal medicine such as women’s health, anxiety, sleep, digestion, skin conditions and fertility.

  • Acupuncture is part of Chinese Medicine. In acupuncture we use fine, thin needles and tap them into specific points in the body that are found on channels that run along the body. In Chinese Medicine acupuncture is used with the idea of restoring balance in the body’s energy flow.

  • This highly depends on what is being treated! It also depends on if the condition is acute or chronic. Chronic conditions will require more treatments.

Some conditions such as women’s health may require several weekly treatments (6-12) over weeks or months, other such as pain may improve in 3-6 sessions.

Chinese medicine is not a quick fix! It took time to become ill, it will take time to recover. It also depends on patient compliance with taking herbal medicine and following lifestyle and diet advice.

With acupuncture or herbal medicine the more often the treatment, the better the results. An example is if you are taking antibiotics, it takes more than one tablet to see any results, you need to finish the course.

  • Acupuncture is usually not painful, and most of the time you will feel nothing. You might feel a slight pinch or tingling sensation when the needle is inserted, followed by a feeling of warmth, heaviness, or a dull ache. The needles are very fine, much thinner than those used for injections. Often patients find acupuncture to be a relaxing experience and look forward to their sessions.

  • The practitioner will assess your condition by asking questions, observing your tongue, and feeling your pulse. You’ll then lie down on the table, and the practitioner will insert needles into specific acupuncture points. The needles are typically left in place for 20 to 30 minutes. The session may include other techniques such as moxibustion, cupping and a herbal medicine prescription. We may also pop an infrared heat lamp on your belly, feet or back.

  • Before your acupuncture appointment please make sure you eat a light meal and avoid strenuous activities. After the session please rest, stay hydrated, and avoid alcohol or heavy exercise for the remainder of the day to allow your body to fully benefit from the treatment.

  • Yes, our practitioners are registered with AHPRA and the relevant associations, and have provider numbers. The amount you can claim depends on your level of cover.
