Frequently Asked Questions
If you have a question, there is a big chance someone has already asked! If your question is not answered here, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us! Just head to our Contact page and give us a call or send us an email.
I have private health insurance, can I claim my rebate at your clinic?
Yes! We have HICAPS in our Point Cook clinic, so just bring your health insurance card along and we can zip it through the machine and you will only have to pay the gap!
Can I have remedial massage when pregnant?
Yes! Pregnancy massage can help with the aches and pains that accompany pregnancy. To read more about pregnancy massage, visit our ‘pregnancy massage’ page.
Is remedial massage painful? Does remedial massage hurt?
If there is tension in the muscle, then yes it may be painful, but what we call ‘good pain’, this should dissipate once the muscle releases and feel very relieving! Our goal is to help you feel better!
I have never had remedial massage before, what should I expect?
We will sit down and discuss what your reason is for visiting us, what may have caused it, and a little of your health history that may be relevant. Depending on the issue, there may be some assessment, and then we will discuss our treatment plan with you.
For the treatment it is preferable to undress down to your underwear (you will be covered by a towel), however if you prefer to stay fully clothed your therapist can certainly work with you.
Your therapist will leave the room while you undress, and will ask you to cover yourself with a bath sheet (extra large towel) and make yourself comfortable on the massage table before they re-enter the room.
What if I need to cancel my appointment?
We are reasonable people and understand that sometimes life happens and things do come up! But we also don’t want other clients that might be in need to miss out on treatments, and we ask that you respect our time. So please let us know ASAP if you have to cancel your appointment.
We do have a strict cancellation policy to make it fair on everyone, both clients and therapists.
100% cancellation fee if you are a NO SHOW or the cancellation is made less than 24 hours before the start of the appointment.
Will I be sore after my remedial massage?
Yes you may be. It is quite normal to feel sore for a couple of days after a treatment. You may feel sore to move, and may feel sore to touch, just like a bruise. After those couple of days you should be fine and feel even looser.
Ensure you drink extra water after your treatment, take a warm bath (+ epsom salts!) or shower, and use a heat pack anywhere you may feel sore.
