Here are some common questions

What are the benefits of Lymphatic drainage massage after surgery?

Lymphatic drainage massage post-surgery offers several benefits, including reducing swelling, inflammation, and the formation of scar tissue, accelerating the disappearance of bruising, improving healing, and preventing infection.

It also helps the body get rid of excess fluids, removes metabolic waste, and supports the immune system. It can prevent complications, promote faster recovery, and aid in the body's healing process by enhancing circulation and improving lymph flow.

How long does a lymphatic drainage massage session last?

The typical duration of a lymphatic drainage massage session usually lasts around 60 to 90 minutes, although it may vary depending on specific needs and goals. An initial post-op lymphatic drainage session is 90 min, with 2-3 treatments a week recommended going forward.

How often should you get a lymphatic drainage massage after surgery?

We recommend 2-3 sessions of post-op lymphatic drainage massage per week for the best results.

How soon after surgery can lymphatic drainage massage be done?

Lymphatic system drainage should be done BEFORE the procedure as well as after to optimise the body for the surgical procedure and to aid healing.

The timing for the first lymphatic drainage massage after surgery can vary, however it is often recommended to have the first lymphatic drainage massage three (3) days after the surgery. This early initiation can significantly reduce the appearance of bruises, swelling, stiffness, and other post-procedural discomforts. You will feel much better after lymphatic drainage, and will recover faster.

What is the cost of a lymphatic drainage massage session?

We offer two appointment types, as our MLD therapists have different specialties.

A general lymphatic drainage appointment is 60 mins and initial price is $130, return is $120

Post- surgical lymphatic drainage appointment can range from 60- 90 mins with an initial 90 minute session starting at $220, and following up with a 60 min $150.
