Infrared Sauna in Point Cook

Our infrared sauna heats up to 70 degrees

Infrared works by heating the body directly, warming us safely to create a cardiovascular workout on the body whilst removing heavy metals and toxins through perspiration. Recovery after a workout, recovery after a remedial massage. Sweat, detox, refresh.

What is an Infrared Sauna?

Infrared is different to steam or hot rocks sauna in that it does not involve water but uses heating panels to heat the body at a lower more comfortable temperature. Infrared is a safe wavelength of light (or energy) which we feel as heat. Infrared works by heating the body directly, warming us safely to create a cardiovascular workout on the body whilst removing heavy metals and toxins through perspiration.

DETOX

Sweating is how the body excretes toxins through the skin. The infrared rays gently heat the body to produce a deep sweat. In an infrared sauna toxins are released such as heavy metals, cholesterol, nicotine, pesticides, alcohol, and other residues

RECOVERY

Infrared light has been shown to promote cell autophagy, a critical process our body undergoes to ensure cells are renewed and restored or killed off. Infrared keeps our circulation up whilst resting the muscles after a workout, to help clear out lactic acid and bring vital nutrients

Before your first infrared sauna session…

What do I need to do before my sauna session?

You need to stay hydrated! Ensure you drink plenty of water BEFORE, DURING and AFTER your session. We recommend 1L before, 1L during and 0.5L after every sauna session. Drinking before your sauna session will maximise perspiration, drinking during and after will keep up your fluid level after sweating.

How long can I stay in the infrared sauna?

Infrared sauna sessions should be 30-45 mins at 45°C - 55°C. If you are new to infrared saunas we recommend you starting at 15 mins and working your way up.

How hot does the infrared sauna get?

The sauna can go up to 70°C. Temperatures of around 60°C will provide a good sweat to those who enjoy a hotter session. If you do want a hotter session, ensure you drink at least 1.5 L of water throughout.

What do I wear in the sauna?

Nothing! The room is all yours when you book, and infrared waves are most effective when they can contact your skin. Otherwise swim wear or loose comfortable clothing

What else do I need to do?

Avoid wearing make up or putting body lotions, creams, or oils on your skin - this ensures your pores are open for a good sweat.

How often can I use the infrared sauna?

3 sessions a week is an average number, however, if you are replenishing the fluids you are losing via sweat, and have no other conditions as mentioned below, the sauna can be used everyday. Just be sure to take some electrolytes and drink lots of water (3L per session)!

IMPORTANT

If you experience any dizziness or light-headedness during your sauna session, you must stop your session immediately. This may be due to dehydration or other medical complications.
